The OACP’s President’s Award of Merit has been established to recognize an OACP member(s) who has provided extraordinary dedication and support to advancing the goals and objectives of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.    

I will have the pleasure of presenting the inaugural President's Award of Merit at our association's Annual Conference June 25-28, 2006 in Hamilton.

I urge you to consider submitting nominations for OACP members of your police service or other services who have made a significant contribution to advancing the goals and objectives of the OACP.  Candidates must:    

• Must be a member in good standing of OACP;    
• Have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments/contributions and provided extraordinary dedication and support to advancing the goals and objectives of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police; and  
• Have demonstrated leadership qualities which have had a positive impact on the OACP.    

  Any OACP member in good standing may submit a nomination for the Award to be received in the OACP office by Monday, April 30, 2006.  Completed nominations should be submitted to the President c/o Helen Woolvett at hwoolvett@oacp.on.ca.  Please see the attached nomination form and guidelines for this award (including nomination criteria).  

Award winners receive complimentary travel to and accommodation to attend the award presentation at the OACP Annual Conference and will have their name inscribed on a plaque to be housed at the office of the OACP office.     

I encourage you to nominate worthy OACP members for this prestigious award.  Please join your fellow police leaders at our conference as we honour individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the cause of policing in Ontario.
