2005 WORKFORCE CENSUS THE OTTAWA POLICE EXPERIENCE

Join the Ontario Police College, OACP Diversity Committee, and the Ottawa Police Service in a one-day Information Forum “2005 Workforce Census – The Ottawa Police Experience” to be held in the Victoria Room, Delta Hotel, 361 Queens St, Ottawa on Monday, September 25, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This one-day forum will provide participants with an overview of the key issues, historical review, and the rationale behind the Outreach Recruitment Project, and how the Ottawa Police Service broke new ground in Canadian policing and successfully conducted a Workforce Census. Materials available will be distributed to those who are registered participants and are in attendance.

The day will feature presentations and thought-provoking panel discussions with the Ottawa Police Service members involved wit the Outreach Recruitment Project and the Workforce Census, as well as Dr. Carina Fiedeldey-Van Dijk, Senior Research Associate from TWI Inc. who will discuss the actual reactions and results.

All police services personnel and their respective Board members are welcome to attend this one-day Information Forum. There is no registration fee, however, advanced registration is required.

Registration is subject to minimum/maximum numbers. Please confirm your attendance by faxing the attached registration form to the OPC Registrar at 519-765-1519 or via e-mail to opcregistrar@jus.gov.on.ca no later than September 15, 2006. Further information including online registration and agenda are available on the www.opconline.ca website.

Please note that participants will be responsible for their own travel costs and arrangements as well as their accommodation/meals. There is a block of rooms reserved at the Delta Hotel for the Forum. Participants requiring accommodations are requested to contact the Delta Hotel directly at 613-238-6000 before September 4, 2006 to avail the special rate of CAD $139.00 plus tax. The order of the day is business attire or uniform, and check-in time for the Forum is 8:45 a.m.
