OTTAWA –Statistics Canada has issued a warning about a letter which invites individuals to participate in a non-existent survey.

A number of individuals in the health and medical field in Ontario have been solicited by mail to participate in a Statistics Canada survey. They are informed that Statistics Canada will pay them $2,500 for doing so.

This solicitation does not come from Statistics Canada. It is not legitimate and individuals should not participate. The persons responsible for the letter are not Statistics Canada employees.
Statistics Canada has asked the RCMP to conduct an investigation into this situation.
