WHEREAS; The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police recognizes that the ranks of municipal Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, senior officers and commissioned of the Ontario Provincial Police, by virtue of their membership are active members of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. WHEREAS; the Province of Ontario is undertaking to enter into planned restructuring and reorganization of policing in the province of Ontario which may result in the displacement of the Association's Active members; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT any member, as listed above, of the OACP who is displaced as the result of any restructuring or reorganization initiated by the province or any municipality, that member will be integrated into the new or overtaking entity (service) at the minimum rank level of Inspector. In the event that integration into the rank of Inspector would not be possible due to a lack of recognized qualifications, the appropriate service agrees to enter into negotiation with the affected member to negotiate mutually agreeable terms for the buy out of service or integration into the new Service at an appropriate rank level. In order to facilitate the negotiations as outlined above, there will be developed by a committee of this Association a structure to provide assistance to assist with negotiations to come to a mutually satisfactory arrangement between the affected Board and member. This structure referred to will be developed by the Executive of this Association which will involve committee participation deemed appropriate by the Executive. There will be no liability on the part of the OACP or any of its members to supply services beyond that recommended by the Executive.
