COVID-19 Protocols

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) has been in contact with the Grey Bruce Health Unit in Collingwood, ON. Based on current health advice, the conference will go ahead in person with limited capacity on the premises and other health precautions. The OACP requires that all conference participants be fully vaccinated or provide proof of medical exemption/willingness to do on-site testing for COVID-19.

Many OACP members have told us that they are excited about seeing friends and colleagues in person again. That’s why we are planning a safe environment where participants’ health and wellness will be the first priority. The OACP is committed to ensuring that all of our delegates have a safe experience at this year's conference. The Annual Conference will follow all local and provincial health guidelines while adhering to the following measures:

  • OHRC policy statement on COVID-19 vaccine mandates and proof of vaccine certificates

  • All attendees must provide proof of a second vaccination or medical exemption in accordance with the Government of Ontario's COVID-19 regulations. See Blue Mountain's policy here.
  • The total number of persons permitted in the indoor space of the facility must be limited to 50% capacity of the facility, or 1,000 persons, whichever is less. (we are at less than 50% capacity of the venue with an attendance of 200).
  • The venue space will be configured so that attendees are separated by a distance of 2 meters. (this will be followed in all of our spaces – for example: classroom style seating in meeting room with only 2 persons per table. We also moved the President’s Night to a larger facility to comply with safe distancing)
  • Conference and event spaces will be closed to the general public. Please ensure that you wear your conference delegate badge at all times.
  • Self sanitization stations will be placed in high traffic areas, including building entrances, exits, foyers and washrooms.
  • Meeting, banquet and event room set up configurations will be adjusted to allow for physical distancing between delegates.
  • Signage, stanchions and/or directional arrows will be placed to assist with guest flow and ensure physical distancing.
  • All meeting rooms will be sanitized before, during breaks, and after they are in use.
  • Podiums will be equipped with sanitizer and wipes.
  • Self service buffets will be changed to manned serving stations. Plexiglass barriers will be utilized where required.
  • Wearing of face masks is mandatory in all indoor spaces, unless seated in your meeting room and/or seated during meals.
  • A personal responsibility code will be sent to the meeting planner for distribution to all group delegates with a link to the updated COVID-19 Response Information.
  • Guests will be asked to register for Blue Mountain’s contactless communication system upon arrival.
