(Toronto, ON) – Members of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) have passed resolutions calling on the Government of Ontario to partner with the province’s police leaders on important traffic safety issues and responding to mental health calls. The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is pleased to announce its new Board of Directors for 2022-2023. Along with new OACP President Chief Nishan Duraiappah, OACP members at the association’s 2022 Annual Conference elected a new First Vice-President, three Vice-Presidents, and a Secretary-Treasurer.

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is pleased to announce that Nishan Duraiappah, Chief of Police of Peel Regional Police, will serve as the association’s President for 2022-2023. Chief Duraiappah was sworn in during the OACP’s Annual General Meeting today. He succeeds Chief Gary Conn of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, who will remain on the Board of Directors as Past-President.
