On behalf of Chief Darcy Fleury of the Thunder Bay Police Service, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is pleased to share a special message regarding the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S) Individuals Toolkit.
In Canada, there are reported numbers of 1,200 and as many as 5,000 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The Tree of Hope shines for them.
We invite your police service to participate in the Tree of Hope project to honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S) individuals.
The widespread participation of police services in the Tree of Hope project underscores a collective commitment to raising awareness and honouring the memory of MMIWG2S. Add your police service’s voice to this meaningful and impactful initiative: https://www.thunderbaypolice.ca/about-us/tree-of-hope
