The policing community across Ontario was again devastated this week to hear of the tragic loss of Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane of the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal, who died in the line of duty during an intervention in a Montreal neighbourhood. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and colleagues of Cst. Benredouane. A hero in life, not death. We also mourn the death of an innocent bystander during the incident in Montréal.
We also wish a speedy recovery to the two Saskatchewan RCMP officers who were injured after being shot in an armed standoff at an eastern Saskatchewan home earlier this week. The OACP is steadfast in its commitment to advocating for enhanced safety for frontline officers and stands with the entire policing community across Ontario and Canada in mourning those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
