With the holiday season fast approaching, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is preparing to launch the 2025 Provincial Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Thursday, November 20 at 10 a.m. This year’s event is being hosted by Toronto Police Service at 23 Division (5230 Finch Avenue West), with the support of with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), other Ontario police services, and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
Ontario police services are invited to participate and contribute a police vehicle to show a united front against impaired driving. If your service can participate, please RSVP to Staff Sergeant Paul Qureshi at Paul.Qureshi@tps.ca. All attending services should plan to arrive by no later than 9:00 a.m. on the event day.
The annual campaign promotes traffic enforcement and raises awareness about the many dangers associated with alcohol and drug-impaired driving. Speakers will include government officials and police partners. A R.I.D.E. blitz will take place near the launch location following the media event and photo opportunity.
We encourage all police services to share their own local Festive R.I.D.E and road safety information on social media, using the hashtag #FestiveRIDE2025. Please contact Larissa Pereira at lpereira@oacp.ca for questions or more information.
