(Niagara, ON) – The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is proud to announce that Jacqueline White, Wikwemikong Tribal Police (WTPS), is the recipient of the 2026 OACP/CCN Catherine Martin Award of Excellence in Media Relations. The OACP proudly recognizes Jacqueline for her outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedicated service in advancing public safety and law enforcement support through modern communications.
This award recognizes a sworn or civilian member (or team) who demonstrate consistent dedication and professionalism in the strategic use of media and/or social media to educate and showcase the profession of policing in the community, supporting public safety, or advancing investigations in the Province of Ontario.
Bringing nearly 20 years of public-sector communications experience, Jacqueline has transformed the Service’s digital platforms into vital tools for community education, transparency, and operational success. Her efforts have significantly enhanced public understanding of policing operations while building deep community trust and engagement.
Under her direction, WTPS achieved unprecedented digital reach in 2025, securing more than 4.5 million Facebook views, 961,000 Instagram views, and 38,000 LinkedIn views. These metrics represent explosive organizational growth and reflect her ability to deliver impactful, culturally appropriate, and accessible content. Her targeted campaigns consistently highlight crime prevention, investigative outcomes, recruitment efforts, officer recognition, and vital community events.
Beyond public engagement, Jacqueline’s work serves as a critical asset to active police operations. By disseminating timely and accurate information during critical incidents, her strategic messaging directly encourages community cooperation, aids investigations, and makes a lasting contribution to public safety and community well-being.
Jacqueline’s unique blend of professional expertise and cultural resonance continues to set a benchmark for indigenous policing communications across the region.
