Special Constables Training

The training of Special Constables under the Community Safety and Policing Act has emerged as an important issue for all Ontario police organizations. That’s why on September 9, 2024, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police is hosting an educational opportunity for members of law enforcement in recruitment, training, and education units, including staff involved in the development or delivery of Special Constable training programs to discuss and enhance the current training curriculum, share best practices, and address any challenges police services face in meeting the requirements of the training process.

This educational event will take place at the Stonehaven & The Shed (63 Eric T. Smith Way, Aurora, ON) from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please contact Christine Zealand at christine.zealand@cobourgpolice.com for more information.

The next PLP is scheduled for October 25 – November 15, 2024. For more details and to apply, visit Rotman Police Leadership Program.
