Ontario’s Police Leadership in Action as Resolutions on Key Issues Passed at 2025 OACP Annual General Meeting

Top police leaders from across the province concluded the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s (OACP) Annual General Meeting by passing six resolutions on important public policy issues impacting public safety. On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, six resolutions were passed:
- RESOLUTION 2025-01 Enhancing Investigative Standards for Child Victims Through a Best Practice Framework
- RESOLUTION 2025-02 Advancing Lawful Interception Tools to Combat Serious Transnational Organized Crime
- RESOLUTION 2025-03 Streamlining Grant Administration
- RESOLUTION 2025-04 Support for Funding Demonstrations and Protests in Ontario
- RESOLUTION 2025-05 Support a National Public Safety Broadband Network for Ontario and Canada
- RESOLUTION 2025-06 Public Safety Requires Meaningful Public Safety Participation in Ontario’s PSBN Initiative
“As senior police leader in Ontario, OACP members are committed to working closely with government decision-makers, other first responder groups, and the many diverse communities across our province to provide solutions to issues that impact the health and safety of all Ontarians,” said Chief Mark Campbell (Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service), who began his term as OACP President at the end of the conference. “We look forward to working collaboratively on these and many other issues in the coming year.”
