The Traffic Committee is responsible for matters of policy, practice and standards of federal, provincial and municipal police organizations relating to traffic enforcement, accident investigation, records, patrol, organization, administration and safety.
The Committee's Vision Statement is to recognize road safety as an essential component in the quality of life for all road users in the Province of Ontario. The Mission Statement is to provide strategic leadership in partnership with Ontario Police Services and road safety stakeholders, to improve traffic safety and quality of life for all people in Ontario.
The Traffic Committee oversees the following Traffic Sub-Committees:

- Breath Working Group
- DRE Working Group
- Ontario Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Committee
- Collision Reconstruction Working Group
